Planning a baby shower can be loads of fun, yet at the same time it can be challenging; planning a menu and finding games, buying great decorations. When planning a shower, it's helpful to decide on a theme. This gives you a starting point and all aspects of the shower easily come together. You can choose a theme based on almost anything, just bear in mind what the new parents like. Do a quick search online and you'll see tons of different theme ideas for baby showers. They range from baby bottles and diapers to clotheslines and more. Because themed showers have gained so much popularity, it's easy to find party favors, decorations and food items, as well as game ideas surrounding the various themes. For instance if you decide to incorporate games such as "Drop the Clothespin in a Bottle" or "Toss the Coin into the Bottle", into your shower; afterwards, the bottles can be washed and given to the mom-to-be to take home and use for baby. With the rapid advance in printer quality, making your own baby shower invitations, and other types of cards, has become very easy
Another idea for a themed shower is to think about the nursery theme the parents have chosen. If going this route, you may suggest to your guests to pick gifts that can be used in the nursery. For instance, if the nursery is decorated in a particular color or perhaps has a theme itself, such as princesses or baby animals, there are tons of possibilities to be found. There's storage solutions, crib sheets, wall hangings, baby blankets, photo albums, almost anything you can imagine can be found surrounding these nursery themes. When setting a time for the baby shower, it can be the standard Sunday afternoon shower or perhaps your guests would enjoy a Saturday brunch at ten in the morning. Delicious quiche or breakfast casseroles and fruit and pastries are sure to be a delight at the brunch. And it's early enough in the day where everyone has plenty of energy and when the shower is over, there will still be time to enjoy the day. When planning, don't forget that all important centerpiece. A four layer "cake" created from cloth diapers will look wonderful on the table, decorated with ribbons and baby's breath. The cloth diapers can be used for baby later on. There are endless possibilities limited only by your imagination. Simply let your creativity take control, bearing in mind what your "expecting" friend would like the most in celebration of her new baby. |
