Baby Hooded Towel

Baby hooded towels may prove to be a very useful item for a parent.

If you have never been a mother or a father before, you probably don't understand what it is about. A lot of people think that the biggest thrill of parenthood is watching your child grow up, and this may be the case for many parents, but there are other thrills as well. Having this small little creature in your arms who is completely dependent on you for survival, and being able to care for and nurture him or her, is really what it is all about for me.

Baby Hooded Towel
Babies catch cold very easily because their immune system is weak, and a baby hooded towel is essential to bundle them up when they are wet.

That is why I have started to knit and sew since I had a baby. Although I got a lot of baby gifts at the shower, I want to make sure that my small child has only the best and most comfortable things to wear. The first project that I made for her was kind of ambitious, I will admit. It was a baby bath towel, but not just any bath towel. It was a baby hooded bath towel which took me forever to make. If you have never seen a baby hooded towel before, it is basically like a robe for a freshly washed baby. Babies can catch cold so easily, and their immune systems are so weak, that a hooded baby bath towel is absolutely essential. You really need to bundle them up well, especially when they are wet, or else they can get sick. And trust me, nothing is more miserable for everyone – especially the baby.

Of course, a baby hooded towel is your opportunity as a parent to overdo it on the cuteness. Baby hooded towels are not just simple robes, but are actually elaborately decorated in the types of patterns that babies are always made to wear. The baby hooded towel that my little Sophie wears, for example, is made to resemble a duck. She looks just positively precious in it, all bundled up from head to toe. The cowl of the baby hooded towel is knit, but it took so long to make that I decided not to knit the rest of it. I did not know what kind of fabric a baby hooded towel requires, so I did the most simple thing – I cut up towels to make it. This might sound silly to you, but it actually looks great. The final step was to decorate the baby hooded towel with felt to make it look like an adorable little duck. It was well worth the work.

When you bring your new baby home, you probably will have the urge to keep him near you at all times, especially when you go to sleep for the night. It makes sense to have a crib or cradle in your bedroom at first, since it will minimize the distance you have to walk to handle nighttime feedings.

When my little girl was born, she had a lot of people around her buying clothes and outfits. It was rare that I got to go out and buy her stuff. It seemed like a huge waste of money because everyone was always bringing me stuff, so to spend my own money seemed silly.
